Every JustDaySpace Space Provider has the decision to make, whether or not your daytime use rental makes financial sense. For many, the opportunity is there to make even more money than with an overnight rental, considering the use would typically not be as heavy (your determination).
The power is in your hands, to determine hours of availability, size of space, number of users, and, especially, the price.
Additionally, you have the ability to decide the KIND of use and make that clear in your space description. This determination should dictate how much a space may need to be cleaned. For example, an office would need very little in cleaning if the space clearly states that the user to leave it in the same condition as when arrived. You could attach a cleaning fee as a penalty if not followed.

JustDaySpace is a daytime space marketplace that allows homeowners to rent out a variety of spaces out of their own home for hourly and/or daily use. This allows for a few things that other marketplaces do not:
Private and quiet home office space, or even just a room with a good table or couch.
Creative spaces: Examples include art studio, music studio, craft room, yoga room.
Outdoor spaces: gardens, pools, hot tubs, deck space with a view.
Home theater and video gaming space, game room, pool table.
Anything you can think of, that might have a desired use! Why not try it? There is nothing to lose with listing!

Your safety is of the utmost importance. We only take basic information for any providers and users; but we do not divulge your personal information other than first name and last initial to users. The address is not disclosed until the rental is agreed upon by you.
However, it is up to both ends to do their due diligence in determining what could potentially be a good fit. We encourage both sides to have conversations before renting in order to establish legitimacy and compatibility. You, as a provider, have the power to decide what feels safe to you and whether or not to proceed.

We take only basic information and do not perform background checks (as most marketplaces do not).
But we do listen to our providers and users in regard to their experiences and take these factors into consideration.

As the space provider, you have the ability to decide how to conduct your rental.
You can rent out multiple spaces at the same time or different times, as long as the description clearly states this for whomever is renting (so that a music user is not up against a quiet-space work user).
You can also decide whether or not you want to be present during the use.

It is up to the space provider to determine if your home is permitted to be used for this kind of daytime use.

It is up to the space provider to determine if your town/city allows daytime use of your space.
There are a variety of stipulations regarding overnight use; daytime and hourly use could potentially not be under these regulations. Check with your local jurisdiction.

There are very clearly cafés, libraries, parks, and other spaces that can be used for daily use, just as there are spas, hotels, and other means of escape.
However, this marketplace is unique in that it allows homeowners to make use of their extra or unused space, while providing unique and private spaces for those who desire something to themselves, without having to gamble whether or not the space will be available (such as at a café) and without the interference of others, noise, etc.

Currently, the platform does not collect taxes for you. You will need to determine how you include this income in your taxes.

As a Legacy Space Provider (which you are if you sign on before our official launch), you will make even more money, earning the commission we would ordinarily take from your rental fee for the first six months.
